PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This job is responsible for supervising a unit that is responsible for resource planning, scheduling functions and the short term field coordination activities to meet resource and workload requirements and customer expectations for personnel enterprise wide across the organization. This position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

 

This position supervises a unit in the Outdoor Lighting Department responsible for generating sales, managing customer accounts and designing installation plans for outdoor lighting systems and services.


*Responsibilities for this position include:

• Prospect, develop and maintain positive working relationships with residential, commercial and governmental customers
• Assist manager with establishing sales goals and meet all sales goals targets
• Develop and implement account management and sales strategies
• Drive sales results by understanding lighting products and services, leveraging technical expertise of the team and understanding customers’ needs
• Negotiate contracts, review and approve sales orders and quotes
• Suggest and investigate new lighting technology and design concepts.  Oversee the design and preparation of large complicated jobs. 
• Ensure customers are billed for products and services correctly and in a timely manner
Sales experience with lighting products and services or sales within a similar industry is preferred. Experience with and senior level contacts at businesses and governmental agencies in the Company’s service territory is preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Accountability

- Provide leadership to a unit that is responsible for resource planning, scheduling functions and the short term field coordination activities to meet resource and workload requirements and customer expectations for personnel enterprise wide across the organization. 

- Supervise the provision of required documentation, materials, and resources in support of maintenance and construction activities as well as ensuring the work is initiated, processed, documented and closed out in compliance with PSC regulations. 

- Oversee reports sent to management on program performance including overall program profitability capital spending efficiency, forecasting variance explanations. 

- Establish performance measures and targets. 

- Oversee the assignment of work to Company and Contract crews considering cost, availability and expertise. 

- Make improvements and modifications in processes, procedures and standards to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs. 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

- Minimum high school diploma plus at least 9 years work experience including at least 5 years experience associated with gas and or/electric distribution, transmission, substation construction or maintenance activities.

- Working knowledge of PC based and job/work management applications.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic business plans.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, schedule, manage and coordinate the work activities of an organization with very diverse functions.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems promptly

- Demonstrated leadership skills consistent with the Leadership Model

- Demonstrated ability to interpret and utilize technical standards to complete work.

- Availability to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


Qualifications

- Supervises staff within a department. ; Works within prescribed operating procedures. Work output impacts planning processes, budgets, company operations, etc.

- One has authority to make decisions within a defined set of guidelines and refers decisions outside of those guidelines to higher level.
