PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget of projects and programs. Leads project teams through business case / capital approval process, development and execution of project plans and project closeout. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $250k to $10 million.

Also, may manage non-construction projects with direct accountability to project execution while leading a team to accomplishing objections within a given time frame and with limited resources. 

This position is for a Business Project Manager in the Customer tower. Responsibilities include working with IT Project Managers to lead Customer facing technology projects and ensuring that the targeted Business Outcomes are achieved, working with cross-functional teams to lead organizational initiatives, leading organizational planning, leading UAT and change management.

The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for the Customer, adept in leading by influence, comfortable working in a fast paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Responsible and accountable for overall project performance for projects including new technology programs, information technology and organizational initiatives.

2. Ensures project costs, schedule and scope are managed to stay within approved limits.

3. Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.

4. Primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations.

5. Ensures a good working relationship between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations.

6. Coaches and leads team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks.

7. Identify and obtain project team resources.

8. Ensures project team members understand their respective responsibilities.

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related discipline and 5 - 8 years project management or related experience OR high school diploma and 9 - 12 years of project management or related experience

Demonstrated and documented success at managing projects.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi task environment.


Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or Master's degree in Engineering or Business

PMP certification

Experience leading projects in both Waterfall and Agile environments


Scope

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance and developing strategic plans to implement projects for various organizations.

Responsibilities also include managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team.

Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, project reporting, project financial analysis and relationship management with external customers, vendors and regulatory agencies. 

Interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, the Utility's largest customers, and governmental and regulatory officials. In addition to managing construction projects ranging from $250k to $10 million each with annual expenditures up to $30 million for all projects managed.
