Direct the personnel and activities of the Exelon Utilities Field, Technical and Customer Training Organization. They will also have oversight of all training development, coordination and tracking for the company. Provide safe and effective training that complies with Federal and State laws and Union Contractual Agreements. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and high performance.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of short and long term strategic initiatives designed to assure the highest levels of customer services, maximize profitability and achieve safety, reliability, customer satisfaction and productivity goals through initial and continuing training.
  • Interface with other departments and represent delivery to other business units regarding training. Ensure strong internal customer relationships that exceed requirements. Collaborate with enterprise-wide departments to promote integration where beneficial to enterprise. Promote cross-unit collaboration and synergy[LKS1] [CL2]
  • Plan, Direct and Manage the overall Training Resource. Establish and monitor business plans and division objectives. Balance training resources with training needs and business priorities. Assure compliance with regulatory requirements and Union Contractual Agreements. Establish cost controls and monitor budgets. Assure that programs are conducted in a safe and effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. Lead team in promoting diversity and inclusion. Serve as a change agent for business initiatives and assures the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions and foster collaboration across all units/locations of the Training Organization.
  • Provide leadership to, and development of, the Training team. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct performance review sessions with direct reports. Identifies opportunities for growth and learning and ensures development experiences.
  • Facilitates open and honest communication with the Training staff and management team in all work units. Assures that communication is integrated into the process. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsible for directing the planning, development and execution of technical training for Delivery’s employees. Sponsors and represents Training at Training Councils and with Senior Operations Leadership, establishes and balances annual training requirements and resources. Establishes and maintains accountabilities for Training execution across the various entities. Assures Training Program compliance with Federal, State and Local Laws and Union Contractual Agreements. Assures that Training is conducted safely and effectively. This position must effectively interact and communicate with Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and field employees. [LKS3] [CL4]


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Scientific discipline, Education or Business, or equivalent
  • 10 + years experience in Training, Utility Operations or the equivalent at a Manager Leadership Level
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, change management, financial management and performance management.
  • Strategic Vision, planning and organization skills
  • Strong Teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels
  • High Commitment to safety and strong customer focus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvement and efficiencies including technology and human performance
  • Demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple priorities and constituencies.

  • Master’s degree
  • Strong written and oral communications skillse
  • Extensive experience supervising 5 or more direct reports in multiple locationse
  • Advanced Management Traininge
