The Senior Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated large scope projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Manages projects to contractual requirements utilizing appropriate resources. Primarily responsible for completing projects under or on-budget and on-schedule. Uses independent judgment, reviews design arrangements and sequence of operations of energy systems and equipment.

The Senior Project Manager in Transmission Engineering, Design and Standards will be responsible for managing smaller regional transmission projects & programs.   Responsibilities will include submitting engineering & design service requests in Asset Suite 8 (AS8), managing engineering & design resources to keep projects and programs on schedule, initiating work order tasks in Asset Suite 8 to schedule work construction & crews to execute the work, work with project team to develop project cost & schedule, manage the project scope, reviewing and approving invoices in AS8, forecasting spending’s monthly in WPT system and providing variance explanations to leadership and helping management with building the 5 year Long Range Plan. Also, the Senior Project Manager will need to develop RFPs, review bids, and manage contractors.


  • Supervises project implementation to assure cost, time, quality and execution guidelines according to schedule
  • Manages all parties involved (internal and external) and ensure professional project management from system design to construction phase
  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Directs and manages one or more internal project teams; Takes responsibility for project controlling
  • Develops and reviews project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes from suppliers
  • Represents project towards external parties such as investors, public authorities, grid operator and others
  • Leads and collaborates with a team of specialists and actively participate in developing project standards

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets and schedule, team performance and developing strategic plans to implement projects for various organizations. Responsibilities also include obtaining, clarifying, and managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team. Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, design and engineering tasks, project reporting, project financial analysis, construction execution resource procurement, material procurement,  identification and obtaining required permits, requesting needed real estate and land use permissions, and relationship management with external customers, vendors, townships and regulatory agencies. Interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, and governmental and regulatory officials. In addition to managing construction projects ranging from $250 K to $10 million each with annual expenditures up to $30 million for all projects managed.



  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, construction management) or equivalent experience, and (5 - 7) years of related work experience in construction management or project management
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects: development, planning, installation and execution
  • Experience in handling high stress situations where tact and cooperation are crucial to cost-effective operation.
  • Experience at preparing estimates and value engineering.
  • Experience in directing, supervising, training employees, assigning and directing work, conducting performance appraisals, disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving personnel problems.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English


  • Experience in permitting processes with local authorities
  • Independently has overseen multi-million dollar projects
  • Extensive work experience in management and completion of large scale projects
  • Project Management Practice (PMP) Certification
  • 5 or more years of Transmission Electric Utility Experience
