Primary Purpose of Job

This job is responsible for providing program support and oversight to BGE’s community relations and outreach initiatives to all targeted stakeholders.

Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

1. Works to ensure that all programs and initiatives planned are in accordance with unit and corporate goals and objectives.
2. Develops and maintains essential internal and external relationships. Analyzes and evaluates overall effectiveness of corporate programs as it balances corporate objectives with customer needs. Strategically initiates and executes programs and activities in tandem with ongoing image restoration and customer communications issues.
3. Fosters and supports community based partnerships, low-income initiatives and other corporate programs recognizing the extrinsic and intrinsic impacts these relationships have on the company image and its financial success.
4. Identifies, collaborates, and provides relevant information to cross- divisional Company
stakeholders in support of program activities.
5. Works in cooperation with Exelon Public Affairs and Media Relations on community and local affairs issues by strategically implementing programs, services and or activities that will improve corporate image and customer satisfaction.
6. Demonstrates expertise in developing, managing and promoting speaker bureau and volunteer services activities as it corresponds to business needs and objectives (outcomes).
7. Anticipates and remediates customer issues as determined in engagements in community meetings, neighborhood associations, and other public affairs associated activities.

Job Scope

Works under minimal supervision, relying on knowledge, skills and judgment acquired through education and relevant
experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Duties and tasks are generally varied with some
complexity. Has authority to resolve most questions and problems and refers only most complex issues to higher levels.


Job Specifications


· Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, or related discipline and at least 5 - 8 years related experience including at least 5 years experience in customer/community relations; customer relations, communications, public relations, marketing or related field, OR in lieu of a Bachelors degree, a minimum of 9 -12 years of relevant experience.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships, utilizing effective interpersonal skills both inside and outside theCompany.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effective while conveying an impression which reflects favorably upon the public relations of the Company.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze relevant information, excel in analytical thinking and excels in adjusting work procedures and processes for maximum efficiency.
· Ability to craft and make effective presentations that are well researched and highly credible.
· Demonstrated ability to use a personal computer.
· Ability to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
