PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Assists experienced engineers in developing studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon’s electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems. Provides analytical support for consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, outages, equipment, vehicles or facilities to advance business needs and efficiencies. Develop recommendations to improve planning, design, installation and maintenance processes. Collects and compiles financial data for budget and actual costs of projects.
A successful candidate for this role may be placed in any of a number of engineering areas within BGE including Regional Electric Distribution Engineering, Gas System Planning, Gas Reliability & Maintenance Planning, Gas Engineering & Standards, Gas Plant Engineering, Electric Substation High Voltage Engineering, Electric Substation Equipment Engineering, and Electric Substation Protection & Control Engineering. These are entry level engineering positions. Once hired, candidates can participate in an engineering rotation program that allows the ability to change engineering roles approximately every two years, broadening utility engineering experience throughout career progression. Rotational positions could fall into additional areas of the company such as Fleet Operations, Strategy & Regulatory Affairs, Customer Operations, Electric Distribution Engineering & Standards, Reliability & Maintenance Planning, Restoration Services, Transmission System Operations Support, and a variety of special projects.
Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
